David Morales to headline ‘block party’ at Olby’s this Summer

David Morales will headline the live set at Olby's in Margate

American DJ, Grammy award-winning record producer, songwriter and businessman David Morales will be playing a live set in Margate this Summer.

Morales, who has produced and remixed more than 500 records for artists including Mariah Carey, U2, Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Madonna and Whitney Houston, will perform at a ‘block party’ at Olby’s in August.

Morales signs and develops artists, as well as releasing his own productions, through label DIRIDIM.

His music has appeared in films and television shows, including The Devil Wears Prada, Ninja Turtles 2, Don’t Mess With the Zohan, and Star (TV Series).

The block party, organised by Pickled Productions, also features HIFI Sean, Massimo Lamagna, Vickie Vibe and Derrick Patterson, Greig Gaskill, Get Hot Disco and Jonathan Henfrey.

It takes place on Saturday, August 24 from 2pm to 2am.

    • Not really. Thanet is well renowned for its link to rave culture, from Lido events in the 90s, to modern day free party soundsystems in the early 10s like Skank Nasti, to promoters like Slate Sessions, Seeerious Bass, Breakology etc. Morales loves playing small rooms with banging systems. Of which, Olby’s fits the bill perfectly.

      Margate Arts Club was even featured in the recent book How UK Cities Shaped Rave Culture…sitting alongside Manchester/Todmorden/Sheffield et al.
