Silvers business preparing for ‘next chapter’ after selling Margate High Street venue

Charlotte, with her dance school mascots, has sold Silvers in Margate High Street

Thanet businesswoman Charlotte Silver has confirmed the sale of her Margate café, bar and events space Silvers.

The 24-year-old, who also owns Ronnie’s bar in Ramsgate, opened the High Street business in August 2020 and gave the former Digi Diner a glittering makeover.

The downstairs of the premises is the base for Silver Slipper dance school which Charlotte moved from its original home in Westgate.

Charlotte, who lives in Margate with husband  Jack and chihuahua Jasmine, said: “We are excited that we are announcing we have sold our premises for Silvers on Margate High Street.

“It was not an easy decision to make however Silvers has bigger and brighter plans ahead.

“Over the last eight years the Silvers enterprise has been expanding and this is just another step towards our next chapter.

“Our dance school Silver Slipper will still be running classes as normal and nothing will change on that front for our students.

Charlotte also owns Ronnies cocktail bar

“Our cocktail bar Ronnies is nearly a year old and has been thriving with many positive reviews from customers. We love all our regulars and those who have booked their special occasions with us.

“Silvers over the last four years has hosted birthdays, engagements, anniversaries, community events and many more. We have loved and feel privileged to have been a part of the Margate community. We will continue to support the local community with our upcoming projects.

“Silvers wouldn’t have been what it is today without the present and past team members that have helped make it the success it is. I would like to thank them all for their continued support always and can’t wait for the next adventure.

“I would like to wish the new owners of 59 High Street all the luck in the world with their new business. I know the premises is in great hands and they will love it as much as I did.

“Like my Pops said ‘believe in yourself and never give up.’”

Jack and Charlotte

At 18 Charlotte inherited money and invested it by opening Silver Slipper dance school.

A talented dancer herself, when she was 16 Charlotte was chosen by Jennifer Ellison for a scholarship in her performing arts school in Liverpool.

Sadly for Charlotte a back injury ended her dancing career and meant she had to undertake gruelling operations to remove fluid from her spine.

Instead she turned her attention to business and her ventures, which have a sparkly trademark theme, have grown in success.

Charlotte, who also scooped the  Mrs Regency International pageant title earlier this year, is supported by Jack and the pair have now twice organised the Christmas tree and light switch on event in Margate.

The Silvers premises will be taken over by new owners who will open a bar, studio and hire space.
