Santa will be heading to streets in Thanet next month thanks to isle Rotary Clubs.
Each year members from the clubs take out the sleigh and bring some Christmas magic to families.
Sadly Ramsgate Rotary Club closed in its 100th year in 2021 so there are no Ramsgate sleigh routes this year.
Margate Rotary Club
4th December PALM BAY
Starting at the shops in Summerfield Road at 5.30pm. Left along Summerfield Road-right to Crundale Way, Botany Road, Knockholt Road finishing in Monkton Gardens.
5th December PALM BAY
Starting at the shops in Summerfield Road at 5.30pm. Left to Eastchurch Road, Penshurst Gardens and Halstead Gardens. Continuing along Eastchurch Road to Staplehurst Gardens and return via to Eastchurch Road back to the shops.
7th December MILLMEAD
Start at the site of the old Dane Valley Arms. Left into Tomlin Drive up to William Avenue, Friends Avenue up to Millmead Road into Irvine Drive, William Avenue and Cowley Rise finishing at Dane Valley Road.
Monday 11th December MILLMEAD
Start in Dane Valley Road near Bookmakers at 5.30pm. Along Dane Valley Road into Kent Road. At the top turning left into Millmead Road and then left into Selbourne Road, crossing Kent Road, Invicta Road into Marlow Road, Arlington Gardens into Millmead Road. Then left Into Invicta Road back to Dane Valley Road.
12th December POET’S CORNER
Starting at top of Addiscombe Road by Plant Hire Shop at 5.30pm. Along Addiscombe Road into Addiscombe Gardens. Back into Poets Corner, down to Byron Avenue and along to Shakespeare Road into Milton Avenue, back up to Poets Corner into Church Street and Oxford Road and St Peters Road back to the Addiscombe Road.
14th December POET’S CORNER
Starting in Addiscombe Road at the side of Dane Park at 5.30pm Left from Addiscombe Road into Rosedale Road, into College Road, Glencoe Road and Addiscombe Road. Hastings Avenue, Olave Road into Upper Dane Road and Victoria Avenue. Left into Alfred Road, Wellesley Road to Northdown Park Road back to Addiscombe Road.
All the routes are subject to alteration in the case of road works, obstructions, weather conditions etc. In such cases adjacent routes will be taken within the area being covered or the collection cancelled

Rotary Club of Broadstairs
6 December from about 5.30pm – Starting at Rumfields Road and heading into the roads of the Wimpey Estate

20 December from about 5.30pm – Caroline Crescent and the surrounding roads
Sleigh team is collecting to support local causes throughout the year, a donation or a non-perishable food item would be welcomed.
Rotary Club of Westgate and Birchington
The Rotary Club of Westgate and Birchington Santa will be touring the streets of collecting door to door fundraising for disabled children’s education charity “Louie’s Helping Hands”
Weather permitting, he will visit on the following days in the early evening between 6pm and 7.30 pm
Wednesday 13th December – the streets around Victoria Avenue and Belmont Road.
Thursday 14th December – the streets behind Court Mount and Park Lane.
Saturday 16th December – outside The Galleria in Station Road, Westgate during the morning.
Tuesday 19th December – Linksfield Road to Mountfield Way.
Wednesday 20th December – Streets between Minnis Road and Sea View Road.
Saturday 23rd December – outside RC Wale and Son butchers in Station Road, Birchington during the morning.
