Charity, caring and cakes for Pudsey at St Gregory’s Primary

Activities for Children In Need

Supporting human dignity and valuing every single person is the important message for pupils at St Gregory’s Catholic Primary in Margate.

This strong ethos underpinned the school’s fund raising for the annual Children in Need appeal.

Head Teacher Dave Walker said: “This is a very important part of our core values which we actively highlight during the school year – national appeals like Children in Need give us a chance to put it into action.

“We firmly believe in the right for everyone to be able to access the support they need if they are struggling in any way.”

To celebrate the fun side of Pudsey’s big day, children were able to wear pyjamas, sports gear or leisurewear on a non-uniform day in exchange for a donation to the charity.

Across the day children learned about where the money they raised went and the causes it supported and the St Gregory’s fundraiser ended with a cake sale on the playground to parents and pupils. Donations and takings raised over £330 for the charity.

Mr Walker added: “It was a great day with so many of our children getting into the true spirit of the event as well as having a lot of fun.

“Big thanks go to so many parents who donated cakes for sale and who have helped us raise this total.”
