Prize draw and Christmas fair fundraisers in aid of Angels 4 Dogs

Angels 4 Dogs

A fundraising prize draw and a Christmas fair are among the events taking place to raise money for Angels 4 Dogs rescue in Thanet.

Angels 4 Dogs Rescue began in 2011 and is run by Yasmine Moss and fellow volunteer animal lovers. It does not have external funding so relies on donations and charity events.

Volunteer Ebie Bentley said: “As a rescue we try and save and rehome as many dogs as humanly possible.

“We do not have our own kennels and so kennel fees mount up daily. All of our foster homes are provided with food and medical care for our rescue babies. Again incurring massive financial outlay.

“At all times we are stretched to the limit for spaces / homes but especially financially. The cost of living crisis has meant that more and more dogs are requiring rehoming where people just have not been able to provide for their beloved dogs.

“Many of our dogs also arrive requiring operations and higher levels of medical attention, which costs thousands of pounds.

“Fundraising is so extremely important for us. Without the support of the local community and the raffles, events and online auctions we undertake, we would have to close our doors. The worry of this is extremely real all the time.”

The team at Fine Art Tattoo

Among those in the community raising funds for the cause is Fine Art Tattoo in Ramsgate’s York Street.

The team is running a prize draw for a full day session worth £580 with all the money being donated to Angels 4 Dogs.

Leah Breach, from Fine Art Tattoo, said: “We are currently running a prize draw to win a full day session worth £580, all the money that is made on the draw will be donated to local charity Angels4Dogs, as they are really struggling at the moment. We are trying to reach as many people as possible to raise as much money for the charity as we can.

“As an animal loving studio with dogs ourselves, we feel it’s important that charities like angels4dogs get the support they so desperately need and deserve. Every donation makes a difference and can change a dog’s life.”

The prize draw is running until November 1.

Angels 4 Dogs is also raising funds with a Christmas fair on  Saturday 18th November at The Centre in Alpha Road, Birchington, The fair will run from 10am to 3pm.

Angels 4 Dogs works with local kennels to board their dogs. They charge a  £300 adoption fee which covers some of the costs for kennelling, food, neutering/spaying, vaccinating, defleaing and worming and chipping. The fee also helps towards new dogs coming into their care.
