The St Laurence CE Junior Academy football team has been making waves on the pitch over the past two Fridays, showcasing their unwavering commitment, dedication, and teamwork.
They participated in the John Curran Cup and the Newington Football Festival, leaving their mark with their performances.
At the heart of this journey is Mr. Wells, the school’s PE lead, who not only coaches the team but also meticulously arranges everything for the children to be able to play. His dedication and passion have been instrumental in the team’s success.
Despite facing adversity and having their confidence shaken during the John Curran Cup, the team bounced back, producing some of the best displays from a St Laurence football team in recent memory.
Bruce, one of the players on the team, shared his thoughts on their recent accomplishments, saying, “We fought hard, played as a team, and played our best game.”
The school community extends congratulations to all the students who took part in these two events. Their hard work and dedication have not gone unnoticed. The remainder of the season is eagerly anticipated, with exciting prospects on the horizon for the St Laurence football team.
The next chapter in their journey will be “Super Saturday” at Baypoint on 14th October.
