A person has sadly died on tracks at Minster railway station

A person has sadly died on tracks by Minster railway station today (September 25).

British Transport Police, Kent Police, Kent Fire and Rescue Service and paramedics were called to the scene at 10.30am.

A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “Officers were called to the line near Minster station just before 10.30am today (25 September) to reports of a casualty on the tracks.

“Paramedics also attended however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”

Southeastern confirmed a person had been hit by a train and emergency services are still on site.

The Ramsgate area lines are currently closed. As a result, trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.

Disruption to services is expected until 1pm.
