It has been announced that an award-winning micropub in St Peter’s will call last orders for the final time at the end of this month.

The Yard of Ale, in Church Street, has been a popular watering hole for the past 10 years.

The micropub, which was created in a former stable block building by Shawn Galvin and Ian Noble, is a former CAMRA Kent Pub of the Year winner.

The  Mind The Gap railway themed micropub in Broadstairs High Street owned by Shawn and wife Clare will continue to trade as usual.

In an announcement published on the micropub’s facebook page, Shawn and Clare said: “It is with great regret that we need to inform everyone that the Yard of Ale in St Peter’s will cease trading after Thursday 31st August 2023.

“This is due to the landlord requiring possession of the building back.

“For us it’s been 10 years, far more than we ever anticipated. We would like to thank all of our customers for the support over the years. We will walk out of there with our heads held high.

“Mind the Gap Micropub will continue to trade as normal.”
