It’s here, Ramsgate’s 100th carnival weekend kicks off today (July 29) with a fair, stalls, bar and entertainment at Government Acre from noon UNTIL 8PM.

AT 1PM watch as the Giants Awake – East Kent has its own band of Giants. They have been sleeping for a while. To celebrate the Ramsgate Carnival a few are gathering to parade on Government Acre.

Tomorrow (July 30) at 4pm the annual colourful carnival parade starts from Government Acre (Royal Esplanade) to circle the town and back to its starting point taking in roads from the Paragon through to the seafront, the town and back to Royal Esplanade.

Carnival organisers have also teamed up with  Gadds’ to create a new beer, the Ramsgate CarnivAle, which is in pubs and will raise funds for the annual event.

The beer is brewed from locally grown hops, using a very old variety, East Kent Golding, often described as the ultimate English hop.

Each sale will see an amount returned to the carnival. Gadds’ is also helping with a bar at Government Acre.

  1. Not keen on rainbow ideas in carnivals Its now proving to be negative to our kids. A few Schools are also pushing a very poor cariculumn over sex education . The country is waking up to it slowly.

  2. Cariculum lol really?
Curriculum that’s the trouble with homophobes and racists, thick as sh!t

  3. All due respect to any person of any persuasion but have you actually seen some of the details of the new sex ed curriculum? It is quite odd.
