Explore the stories of the World War graves at St Peter’s Churchyard

World War graves tour

Under the trees and in open grassy areas of St Peter’s nine acre Churchyard there are 57 First and Second World War graves and many famous, and infamous, people of Broadstairs and St Peter’s.

The churchyard is one of the longest in the country and the largest “closed churchyard” in England.

On the tour a guide will show participants the graves and tell stories of various and interesting local people. The earliest grave the guides have found dates back to 1623.

Those taking part will need sensible shoes as the tour is across grass and uneven ground, and should allow 90 minutes.

There is some restricted access for visitors with disabilities. Children are very welcome with a suggested minimum age of 10 years to appreciate the experience.

Booking Essential – Free, but donations invited.
