Crews called to fire in Broadstairs High Street

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a commercial premises in High Street, Broadstairs, last night (June 26) after it’s believed a bonfire spread to the roof space.

Two fire engines attended just after 7pm and crews extinguished the flames. No injuries were reported.

Crews finished at the scene at 7.49pm.

Following the incident, firefighters are reminding people to position bonfires well away from any property or greenery and to make sure they are built to a manageable size.  Bonfires should be attended at all times, and remember to check it’s fully out before you leave it.
