Fire crews called to reports of smoke at electricity substation in Minster

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of smoke coming from an electricity substation in Minster today (June 10)

Crews were called to the site at Tothill Street at 2.45pm. On arrival they cordoned off the road and UK Power Networks arrived to give them access to the premises.

After inspection, it was found there was a fault with one of the cables and the team from UKPN made this safe. There were no injuries.

Fire crews finished at the scene at 4.20pm.
