Jamie Ford returned to talk to CCGS students

Former Chatham and Clarendon student Jamie Ford has returned to the school to discuss his remarkable journey from education to Microsoft, one of the top tech companies in the UK. Jamie who now lives in London, came back to talk to some 60 A-level and GCSE computer science students.

Jamie was a CCGS A-level student three years ago and then went on to achieve a first-class degree from Kings College University in Computer Science. He then successfully completed seven interviews to become a software engineer for Microsoft.

Jamie said: “I wanted to provide something back to the school which had helped me.”

Mrs Wright, Head of Computer Science, added: “Jamie is a fantastic role model for other students and gave a very inspiring talk, which I hope will show others that they too can achieve great things.”

Jamie discussed aspects of A-level study, how to select a university, life after school and in further education, and then how to be successful in that all important first role.
