Work by Mark Negin, 91, from his career in theatre and of Ramsgate heritage.

Having lived in Ramsgate since 1988, Mark has been involved in many events and organisations including the Spring Festival, the Pugin Society, Montefiore Heritage, designing a logo for the old Eastcliff Residents Association, and he designed the patterns on the windows of the Churchill Tavern – he has three paintings on wood panels in the Eastcliff Surgery.

Chilcott is well known as a one-time member of the Kings Singers and as a prolific composer of choral music.

Society of British Theatre Designers at The Margate School

Exhibition plus workshops to design a costume and to design a set and talks asking: how are performance designers responding and adapting to the key challenges of our times? How has our artform changed in response to a changing world? What voices have been missing from the conversation?

Botanical Butterfly Painting Workshop

Working alongside the artist you will study references & specimens she collected while researching the Monarch butterfly migration in Mexico. Learn specific watercolour techniques to render the colour and detail of these wonderful creatures.

A Lent Concert

March 25, 3pm, St Nicholas-at-wade Church

The Canterbury Singers present a choral concert for the season of Lent in their first public concert with new director Jamie Rogers (Assistant Director of Music at Canterbury Cathedral), Paul Stubbings (organ) and baritone solos from Jon Williams in Duruflé’s Requiem.

The concert will also feature Fauré’s Cantique de Jean Racine and a selection of Poulenc’s penitential motets.

Entry free with a retiring collection.

Magic Hours: Walking Tour of Ramsgate’s old cinema and film locations

Broadstairs, Margate and Ramsgate have been sitting back to marvel at the magic of moving pictures ever since they were invented.

Join The Palace Cinema event on a Magic Hours Walking Tour to explore the actual locations and amazing stories behind the three town’s cinemas and other places to see a film, from converted sheds to glorious purpose-built art deco super cinemas, 1890s to today!

Tours are led by Margate-based actor and creative producer Naomi Cooper-Davis, swapping the cobbles of Coronation Street for the pavements of Thanet to bring hidden histories and heartfelt memories of local cinema-going to life.

Our Kent Exhibition

Westgate Galleria, Station Road, Westgate, runs until March 29th.

Reflecting and representing the experience of living and working in Kent. Art by 40 local artists and makers on show, whose work was selected from an open call earlier this year.

The exhibition includes paintings, prints, ceramics, metal work, textiles and mixed media pieces. The selected artists are both emerging, and established, and include Mike Samson, Julian Lovegrove and Eve Stickle, making for a diverse display. Saturday will be the last weekend opportunity to see the Our Kent exhibition before installation of works by artist Beverley Fisher.

Kent Coast Volunteering

Cliftonville Farmers Market

Cliftonville Farmers’ Market was established in 2001 by the Cliftonville Residents Association and is run entirely by volunteers.

Award-winning Farmers Market where producers will be selling bread, cheese, honey, fruit, vegetables, wild game, fruit juices, fresh meat and much more.

Great British Spring Clean event

The Ramsgate Society will once again to be part of the annual Great British Spring Clean. Meet at Pier Yard by the Clock House Museum in Ramsgate at 11am on Sunday March 26th.
