St Joseph’s primary pupils take part in Safety in Action event

Safety in Action event at St Joseph's

Year 6 pupils from St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Broadstairs have spent a morning at a ‘Safety in Action’ event run by safe schools organisation SALUS.

Kent Police, the Fire and Rescue Service, Coastguard and British Transport Police were amongst the services delivering safety talks.

They learnt CPR, how to stay safe online and were made aware of the dangers of drugs and alcohol. All the organisations present gave children vital information ahead of the youngsters making the exciting and sometimes challenging transition to secondary school. With a greater awareness it will enable them to become more independent and know how to protect themselves from the risks associated with everyday life.

Salus has been delivering high impact, high quality services for children, young people, families, schools, communities and other practitioners for over 20 years.  For more information about the organisation please visit their website at https://salusgroup.org.uk/
