Seven fire engines and a height vehicle attended a blaze at flats in Broadstairs last night (February 12) after neighbours reported hearing an ‘explosion.’

Fire crews were called to the blaze in Fosters Avenue just before midnight

Crews extinguished the flames using hose reel jets and main jets.

No injuries were reported.

KFRS’ volunteer response team also attended and provided support to affected residents.

The fire service says it’s believed the fire started in the garden and spread to the roof space of the property. The cause is not yet known.

Crews stopped at the scene at 3.22am.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for a family whose home and belongings were severely damaged in the blaze.
