Margate will hit the small screen once again this year with the airing of Lily Allen comedy-drama Dreamland – and a trailer has now been released to give viewers a peek of the series.

The crew filmed in Margate last July. It is the first  lead television role for 37-year-old Lily Allen, daughter of actor Keith Allen, although she has had parts on the big screen including a 1998 episode The Yob, which starred her father and a role as Elizabeth Taylor in the  How To Build A Girl which was released in 2020.

Based on Sky’s 2018 BAFTA-winning short of the same name, which was written by Sharon Horgan and produced by Merman, Dreamland is a comedy-drama about relationships between four sisters, their mum and their nan.

Freema Agyeman, of Dr Who, is eldest sister Trish who is pregnant for the third time with her partner Spence (Kiell Smith- Bynoe).

Mel, played by Lily Allen, also discovers she is expecting. Gabby Best and Aimee-Ffion Edwards play the other two siblings and there is a guest appearance from Samantha Bond (Miss Moneypenny in four James Bond films with Pierce Brosnan as 007).
