She is still recovering from the injury which required stitches and a scan and has not been fit enough to return to her role. It is understood the incident was not related to any customer dispute.

Dave and Michelle took the helm of The Hussar in 2021 after previous landlords Rennie and Elaine Dobbs retired.

Stephen Gowton, 36, of no fixed address, was arrested on Saturday 14 January and  charged the following day with causing grievous bodily harm and criminal damage.

He appeared in Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Monday 16 January where he was remanded in custody. The case will next be heard at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 13 February.

  1. What, another nutcase? There must be some secret underground nursery where yobs and nutters are bred, later to be unleashed onto the public. Otherwise, why is all this brainless trouble non-stop? Alright, I’m being ironic, but not too much I fear.
