The Thanet Way London-bound has reopened following an accident this morning (December 31).
A car hit the central barrier near to St Nicholas-at-Wade after being caught by a crosswind during wet and windy conditions and ‘aquaplaning.’
Police and paramedics attended. No serious injuries were reported.
A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Kent Police was called at 9.54am to a report of a collision involving one car on the A299 on Thanet Way.
“Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service. No injuries were believed to have been reported.”
“Collision” rather than “Accident” would be a better description.
The car wasn’t “accidentally” aquaplaning. The driver was going too fast for the prevailing conditions.
