Rain didn’t dampen the spirits of the crowd which turned out for Ramsgate’s Christmas fair and light switch on yesterday (November 27).
Organised by the town council, the event included singer Bradley Bisset, Looping the Loop elves, compere Ralph Hoult, face painting and Santa, plus his entourage of elves, from The Rotary Club of The Isle of Thanet Sunrise.

Market stalls with homemade goods were on offer, children could ride the land train and the Miss Ramsgate Organisation was also on hand.
There were also workshops at Arts in Ramsgate to make lanterns for the winter parade in December, Santa’s grotto and of course the light switch on.
Sadly some businesses in Harbour Street had to miss out on the fun after part of the road was closed due to a suspected gas leak.
they will be handy reading lamps for people that live in the shop doorways
Looks a lot better than that gaudy looking bear thing at Westwood Cross.
It was a great event considering the rain and the suspected gas leak.
Well done Ramsgate
The money should have been spent on the homeless
