Primal Scream and Happy Mondays heading to Dreamland next Summer

Dreamland

Primal Scream and Happy Mondays will be performing at Dreamland on Saturday 5 August 2023.

Tickets for the Summer Series gig go on sale this Friday (November 11) from 11am at www.margatesummerseries.co.uk.

With a musical legacy spanning 35 years, Primal Scream has delivered era-defining albums from ‘Screamadelica’ to ‘Riot City Blues’. The band, formed by frontman Bobbie Gillespie, has created their own unique sound breaking down musical boundaries and spanning  everything from psychedelic pop to degenerate rock’n’roll; euphoric rave to industrial gloom.

Formed in Salford, Happy Mondays are known and loved as one of the most influential bands of the 80s and 90s. Acid house, funk, psychedelia and indie collided and with that, the Happy Mondays became an important part of Manchester’s music scene. With timeless hits including Kinky Afro, and Twenty Four Hour Party People, the Happy Mondays have embarked on world tours garnering international acclaim.

Today’s announcement comes hot on the heels of news last week that the Funk & Soul Weekender will return to Margate next summer, along with a huge headline gig at Dreamland Margate from Bad Blood hitmakers, Bastille. Tickets are on sale now.

  1. Never mind that, I’m missing this year’s ‘Sixties Gold’ tour (featuring The Tremeloes, Marmalade and Herman’s Hermits) thanks to TDC handing over millions to Dreamland instead of the Winter Gardens. The word “vexed” doesn’t even begin to describe my feelings!

  2. Should not be aloud to call themselves Dreamland nor be aloud to be given grants as it is not the been returned to its original purpose.
Will be over priced housing in next 10 years

  3. So pleased you said happy mondays are from Salford lol as a manc I get fed up of people saying Manchester when they arent from or in Manchester. Just need Manchester United to admit to being from Trafford and have never been based in Manchester 😉

As for the bands great looking forward to it
