Another lovely autumn day at the WW Martin Community stadium greeted supporters of the two sides. It was another test for the Rams as their opponents were again in the lower reaches of the league table.

We were all looking forward to a more entertaining game than last week.

We were underway and immediately Rams kicked toward the airport end. Rams forced the early pressure creating the first chance although the shot came to nothing. Rams press paid of as Diakiesse retained the ball back to Prescott who shot, hitting Miller and dropping to Jadama who, with a touch, unleashed an unstoppable shot across McCarthy in the Oaks goal in the  5th minute.

In the 8th Bexon kept Rams in the lead as Shomotun fired for the corner and at full stretch a diving save to his right. The game settled down, with Shomotun causing problems down the right. The 21st and a long ball over the Rams defence to Parker and he had to turn into trouble in order to get the ball onto his right foot but once he got the opportunity to shoot he went low and hard beating Bexon to equalise.

It was Rams turn to feel the pressure giving away a free kick in the 23rd a good 20 yards out and up stepped Wilson to fire home beating Bexon at his near post to give the Oaks the lead with the ball going past the wall.

Oaks started to find a good rhythm and moved the ball quickly down both flanks, Rams were now searching for an answer. In the 42nd Rams were nearly undone again as Fitchett saved the day with a good block as Olorunnisome and Shomotun linked up down the right.

Rams started the second half attacking the Town end with the sun in the keeper’s eyes but the first few minutes saw Oaks pressing home the advantage they had.

Oaks were defending superbly in the second half to keep Rams at bay, after changes with Ajayi replacing Diakiesse and Redmond replacing Osinfolarin.

The 70th and Oaks made a couple of subs taking off the biggest threat Shomotun, Rams switched off Prescott leaving the ball and allowing it to run through to Bohui unmarked to run at Bexon and slot home coolly beating Bexon who had come out to meet him.

The 78th and Miller had a golden opportunity in front of goal from an Emptage cross, doing everything with his header but saved superbly by McCarthy.

The sun settled and the Oaks seemed to have settled as well, happily defending anything Rams could create, In the 83rd Rams got the chance and Miller finished from a great ball into the box, to set up a barnstorming finish. The 85th and Oaks corner goes across the box, headed back by Beeden for Bingham to restore the two goal difference. The 89th and Miller shoots, hits an Oaks defender and deflects on to the post.

We entered time with added 5 minutes. Rams attacked, Jadama running through, crossing and headed against the woodwork as Oaks held out for the 3 points and Rams dropped to third in the table.
