Thanet District Council will be resuming garden waste collections from Monday, August 15. This follows a temporary two-week suspension of the service. Thanet council says this was necessary so the authority could prioritise the delivery of statutory waste services including household waste collection and recycling.
Thanet council said when announcing the suspension that it was a “last resort” and the service was impacted by a “national HGV driver shortage.”
The authority says next year’s subscription fee will be adjusted to reflect the break in service.
Basic lack of courtesy not advising customers until 3 days after it was suspended, Do they really take decisions like that on the “fly” arrive at Cecil square on Monday morning, ok cancel green bin collections for the next 2 weeks.!!!
