An exhibition of paintings and sculpture by Canterbury based artist Laura Mars.
The singer and self taught artist has exhibited her work both nationally and internationally. This is her second exhibition at The Lido Stores.

Antoinette’s Archaeology Adventure

Summer Family Picnic In The Park

The Friends of Ellington Park are holding a summer Picnic in the Park.
There will be live music and DJs playing on the bandstand and there will be a bar serving bottled beer and prosecco.
Food and soft drinks are available in the cafe.
Cliftonville Walk
July 23, Walk starts at 2pm from Droit House (Margate harbour)
Robin Colyer will be leading a local history walk on behalf of Margate Civic Society looking at Cliftonville.
The walks start at the Droit House (Thanet Visitor Information Centre), The Stone Pier, Margate Harbour
There is no charge for the walks which last approximately an hour and a half but donations are welcome to the Margate Civic Society.
International Moon Day
July 23, Spitfire & Hurricane Memorial Museum, 2pm to 3pm
Monkton Stargazers will be at the Manston Spitfire Museum, where members of the public, young and old, will be given a booklet about the Moon. They will be able to have a go at a Moon quiz and take part in activities such as making craters. The event will raise the profile of Lunar Astronomy and the Gateway mission.
Two theatre shows on Margate Main Sands
Shows are heading to Margate Main Sands with Phoenix Community Events – made up of former Theatre Royal staff – arranging two performances in one day next month.
First up is Theatre Royal Margate favourites, Morgan and West, with a new family friendly show on the morning of Sunday July 24.
Sharpen your swords, lace up your boots, and stick a great big feather in your hat for Morgan and West’s retelling of Alexandre Dumas’ The Three Musketeers.
Can the marvellous Musketeers retrieve the Queen’s prize diamonds? Will the nefarious Cardinal Richelieu get away with his dastardly scheme? Can three actors play fifteen characters in just about an hour? Find out in Morgan & West present The Three Musketeers For Kids!
Show time: 11.30am, suitable for ages 6+

Next up is Shakespeare on the beach. Changeling Theatre Company, which has presented Shakespeare’s plays on Margate Main Sands every summer since 2013, will be back on the evening of Sunday July 24 with a production of Othello.
Othello is one of Shakespeare’s best-known tragedies, exploring the devastating impact of jealousy and suspicion, race, and racism.
The play follows the story of Othello, a recently married man of rank who is enjoying a glittering military career and has a successful future ahead of him. But Othello has enemies. Enemies that will do anything to bring him down. One of them, Iago, devises a sinister plot to undermine Othello’s reputation, tricking him into a jealous rage that ends in tragedy.
Love, jealousy, deception, murder. Othello is an edge-of-the-seat thriller. Think Shakespeare meets Scandi noir, Changeling’s production promises to fizz with passion, intrigue, and dark humour.
Show time: 7.30pm

Thanet Vintage Bus Road Run
July 24, Ramsgate Boating Pool, from 10am.
Organised by Southern Counties Omnibus Collection and Friends of East Kent
Vintage buses, some dating back to the 1950s, arrive at the boating pool from 10am before making several passes of the harbour in convoy and on to Dumpton Gap, Palm Bay, Margate and Westgate with a stop for lunch (pack a picnic), then along the coastal road to Birchington and Minnis Bay before returning to the boating pool via Acol and Manston.
Free to ride with a collection for Thanet Cats in Crisis.

Dreamsenses exhibition
Dreamsenses at Dreamland Margate and is a sensory exploration of 100 years of Dreamland and the Scenic Railway. The exhibition is supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
It features artwork from the creative industries students from the Canterbury School of Visual Arts at Canterbury College and EKC Broadstairs, who have been working in collaboration with the Dreamland Heritage Trust to create designs based on the history and heritage of the park.
The DreamSenses summer exhibition is in the main entrance concourse at Dreamland and will be open until Sunday 4 September and is open during the parks opening hours. Entry to the exhibition is free.
NOBS at Sugar Rush
A free and inclusive poetry and spoken word event is launching in Ramsgate this weekend.
NOBS (No BS) is a poetry and spoken word event which debuts on this Sunday (July 24) at Sugar Rush in Ramsgate.
Doors open 7pm. There’s a free drink for everyone who attends, plus entertaining performances and the chance to do something a bit different on a Sunday night. Sunday’s event is the launch party for a new regular poetry night, started by two local poets hoping to make poetry more relevant and accessible to people who might not have considered it before.
There will be performances by some established local poets plus new talent, and everyone who attends is encouraged to bring a poem of their own if they’d like a turn on the mic – but no pressure!
It’s also encouraged to turn up, clap and cheer and enjoy a drink in the Sugar Rush venue.
