New bar and lounge, Reign, opens in Broadstairs today (May 17).
Reign, on Albion Street, has an all day bar which offers guests everything from morning coffee, cakes and pastries to a decadent afternoon tea with freshly cut sandwiches, warm scones, loose-leaf teas, Champagne and cocktails.
The bar and lounge has been created with a bold use of colour including midnight blue, forest green and crystal lighting with brass and marble details,
Owners Katy and Paul King, who live in Broadstairs, commissioned Margate based hospitality interior design studio, Lifeforms Design, for the full design. The project was led by Lifeforms founder Lee Pollock, which celebrates its 20th year in the industry this year, and was inspired by the building’s Art Deco architecture. The Deco Modern design details aim to be complementary to the architecture of the building and also to the Victorian seaside heritage of Broadstairs.

The original building was constructed in the 1920s, so Katy and Paul say the decision to work with classic turn of the century elements, with a nod to Art Deco design was a natural choice. Reign showcases the Art Deco movement combining geometric shaping, marbleised texture, and metallic finishes.

There is a dark and atmospheric colour palette, crystal lighting and bespoke furniture, including banquette bar seating that has been designed by Lee and fabricated by N&J Upholstery.
Lifeforms has worked on projects all over the country from London to Leeds.

It provides a full range of interiors and architectural design services across hospitality, leisure, retail and commercial industries. Colour, form and texture are a signature design trait combining luxe and industrial.
Reign is on the site of the former Rose Inn -latterly Taylors.
