Women swimmers braved the chill and gathered for a sunrise swim today (March 8) to raise cash for Oasis Domestic Abuse Service and mark International Women’s Day.

The group gathered at Walpole Bay tidal pool at 6.15am for the dip organised by Margate mum Jill Allen.

Jill set up a fundraising page for the swim which has smashed through its £50 target and now stands at £115.

Oasis runs refuges in Thanet and Dover as well as a range of outreach and educational programmes.
