Volunteers plant 100 trees at Dane Valley Woods

One hundred trees have been planted at Dane Valley Woods by volunteers.

Twenty-five each of silver birch, field maple, rowan and wild cherry were donated by the Woodland Trust and Thanet council supplied the mulch.

Dane Valley Woods group members will be returning to the trees regularly to look after them and help them through their first couple of years.

A Dane Valley Woods spokesperson said: “We are always amazed by the support we receive from the local community at our tree planting events. Without their backing, we wouldn’t have been able to plant all the trees we have since 2004 – over 6000 and counting!

“And a special thanks to our friends at Curve Roasters, who helped out and supplied coffee to all our hard working volunteers. It’s great to see so many people taking an interest and helping to improve their local area, long may it continue.”

Dane Valley Woods task mornings are every last Sunday of the month, meeting at 10am
