Police are appealing for information after a man was assaulted in Ramsgate by a group of four males and had his phone stolen.

At around 1am last Friday (January 17) in Cannonbury Road near to the junction with Grange Road, the man in his 20s suffered the assault and robbery after he was approached by the men who got out of a dark grey Audi car.

The victim said he was able to run away from the area and call police when the car’s alarm started sounding.

He suffered injuries which needed medical treatment.

The suspects were described as black men wearing dark clothing, with two of them also wearing balaclavas.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information is asked to call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting 46/9920/20.

Officers would also like to speak to car owners whose vehicles were parked in the road that night and have dashcam installed, as the footage may assist with the investigation.

  1. How many assaults and anti-social behaviour reports is that in a few weeks now!

We need a higher police presence in Thanet, this is getting silly now. But guess as normal nothing will happen and the problem will just get worse. If you had patrol car’s doing rounds after dark and at weekends, combined with police on foot in the town centres from 10:30pm – 3am at weekends these incidents would drop overnight.

The problem is, that at the moment the drug dealers and people that go out for a fight or to rob people do as they please because they know there are no police around and that they can do whatever they want. The same for the feral kids that wander the streets, they do what they want as they know there are no police around.

You reap what you sow though and those who voted Tory are really reaping those endless cuts to our services! What a great place the UK is becoming! It’s just a shame that everyone has to suffer.

  2. There shouldn’t be that many dark coloured audi’s in the area at 1.00 am so checking the TDC street camera footage should come up trumps with the car and registration number. It’s not rocket science for the police.
