Nursery staff and little ones wear Christmas jumpers to raise hospice funds

Christmas jumpers at My Nursery

Little ones and staff at My Nursery in Margate have celebrated the end of term with a Christmas Jumper Day to raise money and awareness for the Thanet Pilgrims Hospice.

The youngsters wore their Christmas jumpers to nursery and donated money in a specially designed hospice pot made by the children themselves.
Manager Sharon Taroni said: “We spoke about helping others and the work our local hospice does. We also told the children about the Santa Run that the nursery ladies did on Sunday for the hospice. We did our own little Santa Run around the nursery garden…with lots of Ho Ho Ho-ing along the way!”
Children also enjoyed a Christmas party, met Father Christmas and received a special Christmas book to share with their family promoting language and literacy.
Youngsters aged 2 to 4 are catered for at the St Peter’s Road nursery which was established in 2004. Run from the ground floor of a Victorian house. It has been extended to create two purpose built rooms, the caterpillar room for 2-3 year olds and the butterfly room for 3 and 4 year olds.
