Residents turned out to enjoy a successful ‘Winter Wotsit’ event yesterday (December 15) at the Ramsgate Tunnels.
Organised by The East Cliff Community Group with help from Ramsgate Town Team the event was saved from the miserable weather by the Tunnels team offer to host it.
Town Team promoter Rebekah Smith said: “The atmosphere in the Tunnels was perfect for our get together and once again provided refuge for the community in a cold windy night!
“Ivan Hussey was brilliant and sounded amazing in the Tunnels and the mulled cider certainly helped get everyone in the spirit to sing Christmas songs after his set.
“Our Kitchen on the Isle of Thanet cooked up a wonderful feast which everyone got stuck in to and we would like to thank Sharon Goodyer and her team for all their hard work with preparing and serving such delicious food.
“It’s so heartening to see so many people come to an event on a wintery evening and we hope this will be the first of many community events in collaboration with Ramsgate Tunnels.”
