Boats in Ramsgate Harbour and businesses at the Military Arches are twinkling again for this year’s illuminations.
Prize-giving for the best dressed crafts takes place at the Royal Temple Yacht Club on December 20. Proceeds from the illuminations go to Ramsgate RNLI. The event is sponsored by the yacht club and Ramsgate Town Team.
Last year’s lights raised £802 for Ramsgate RNLI with th cheque being presented by Rebekah Smith, Town Promoter. Also present was Martin Morgans from the Royal Temple Yacht Club who co-ordinates the annual event encouraging the boats to light up.
He works side by side with Ramsgate Town Council to include local businesses and make it into a spectacle which attracts crowds from far and wide.
The vital RNLI service is funded by donations.
