Pilgrims Hospices to hold annual Trees of Love remembrance service

The Trees of Hope memorial

The festive season is a time of joy and celebration but can also be a painful period for those grieving their lost loved ones.

In recognition of this Pilgrims Hospices are holding a special remembrance service. Trees of Love offers a carol service and invites people to dedicate a dove to hang on Pilgrims’ illuminated Trees of Love.

A spokesman for the Thanet hospice explained: “Pilgrims Trees of Love are special to so many people because they offer a lovely and personal way to remember those we aren’t able to spend time with at Christmas.

“Anyone can dedicate a dove in of a loved one, the doves will hang on Pilgrims Trees of Love and be illuminated throughout the festive season. The Pilgrims team wish anyone to feel free to join them for a beautiful remembrance service with carols, held at the same time at each of our three hospices. Every generous donation from our amazing community of supporters helps to make sure care is there for the next family who needs them.”

This year Pilgrims Hospices has to raise £11 million through voluntary donations in order to run their full range of services. Sponsorship Be part of the special Christmas service at Pilgrims Hospice Thanet, Ramsgate Road, Margate CT9 4AD on Saturday 7 December, 5pm. 01227 782 062.
