Witness appeal following assault and moped theft

Police are appealing for witnesses after a moped owner was assaulted by thieves who stole his vehicle in Sandwich and later dumped it at Cliffsend.

The victim, a man in his 20s, parked his red Lexmoto moped in Strand Street at around 9pm on November 8.

He reported that at 11.15pm he returned to find it was no longer parked and the bike was being ridden around by two people who then assaulted him.

The victim suffered injuries and was taken to a local hospital. The bike was later found abandoned in a field in Cliffsend.

Officers who would like to speak to anyone who saw the theft or if they saw the bike being ridden around.
