Police are asking for witnesses to come forward after a 15-year-old boy was punched, kicked and robbed of his bicycle and smartphone in Margate.

The incident happened in Northdown Park Road, near the junction with Green Lane, at about 6.10pm on Monday, October 21.

It was reported that the victim was punched and kicked by two young men who approached him on mopeds.

He was then threatened with further violence and forced to give up his Voodoo Rune BMX and iPhone.

The suspects are reported to have left with a number of other people who arrived at the scene in a dark coloured car.

Kent Police officers have followed a number of lines of enquiry including house-to-house visits and a review of any CCTV or dashcam opportunities. They are now appealing for any witnesses who have not yet spoken to them to also come forward.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the appeal line on 01843 222289 quoting reference 46/203110/19. Alternatively call the independent charity Crimestoppers in Kent anonymously on 0800 555111.

  1. What do you mean, “London crime has arrived”? What do you mean, “The use of a car says it all”? Get a grip. There has been crime in Thanet for centuries- millennia. And is it only in London that criminals make their getaways by car?
