Last chance to view Mosaics and Still Life exhibition in Ramsgate

Tulips in Broadstairs by Margaret Foreman

There is one last chance to see Martin Cheek & Margaret Foreman exhibition: Mosaics and Still Life at the gallery space in Nice Things in Ramsgate,

Husband and wife Martin and Margaret live in Broadstairs and their work is full of references to family, friends, things that they find fascinating and absolutely has a sense of humour and fun. Margaret’s painting of ‘Broadstairs Tulips’ resulted from a bunch of bright flowers gifted by a friend. The intricate detail, the complexity of her brushwork, fill the canvas with vivid colour.

Martin has taken mosaics beyond the traditional style of cut stone and glass, incorporating hundreds of fused glass elements, so a swirl of parakeets are shimmering glass, surrounded by iridescent stonework, giving a real sense of the darting flight of our locally well-known birds from King George VI Park.

The final day of the exhibition is tomorrow (October 29) 11am – 5pm. It’s free to enter.

Nice Things Gallery, 19-21 Harbour Street in Ramsgate’s town centre.
