Halloween: Thanet Rock Hunters 387 stone ‘trail’ and fun in Margate Old Town

Halloween rock trail

Almost 400 stones decorated in a Halloween theme were lined up along the Westcliff promenade in Ramsgate at the weekend.

The rocks were not only for a fun Halloween trail but also to mark the second birthday of the Thanet Rock Hunters group.

Thanet Rock Hunters facebook group was set up  in 2017 by childminder Sandra Perry and is now run by Jo Levitt. Those taking part decorate their rocks and then hide them for others to find. Once discovered a photo of the rock and its finder is posted to social media and then the stone is rehidden.

The attraction, other than it being free to take part, is that it gets the whole family out hunting together and anyone, of any age and ability, can join in.

The group now has more than 9,000 members on its facebook page.
