Police and paramedics were called to the scene of an accident in Margate today (October 16) after a girl was hit by a car.
Emergency services were called to Northdown Park Road, near The Wheatsheaf, at 3.45pm.
A South East Coast Ambulance service spokesman said: “We are at the scene of an incident in Northdown Park Road reported at approximately 3.45pm today and involving a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle.”
A Kent Police spokesman added: “Police were called to Northdown Road, Margate at 3.53pm following a report of a road traffic collision between a car and a pedestrian.
“The road was closed whilst the emergency services worked at the scene. A girl was treated by South East Coast Ambulance Service and taken to the William Harvey Hospital.”
The road was reopened at 5pm.
It was not an accident. Responsibility always lies with someone: either the driver or the pedestrian.
I do hope that whatever the circumstances, all concerned will fully recover.
