Im-paw-tent guests can now attend your wedding with a full chaperone service thanks to a Thanet company.
Furrytail Weddings, run by business partners Kerry Ewer and Kat Davis, offers a range of packages which mean the four-legged members of the family can attend the special day -or other events – while being looked after from start to finish.
Kerry, 30, and Katherine, 40, started the venture in April as a spin off from The Howliday Inn dog sitting and walking service which runs from homes across the isle.
Mum-of-one Kerry, from Margate, said: “ We founded The Howliday Inn, a home-based pet care company, over three years ago. We had both been doing dog boarding and passing work to each other when we decided to become a company.
“Then I went on maternity leave so we needed someone to cover Ramsgate and then it got really busy and we have ended up with seven branches in Thanet, Canterbury and Sandwich, a dog groomer, three house sitters and extra walkers.
“The idea for Furrytail Weddings came after we advertised our boarding at a wedding fair and lots of people asked if we could bring the dogs to their wedding.
“We did some research and spoke to venues that allow dogs but some said there were problems if dogs weren’t being looked after.
“So Furrytail Weddings was born and we can take all the bother away so the dogs can share the special day. We arrange collection, look after their care needs,, can arrange for them to be at the photo shoots and even take them overnight.”
Furrytails can also chaperone while dogs take on ceremonial duties, such as being the ring-bearer or flower pup, and offer tailor bespoke packages.
Kerry said: “We have had weddings in London, Essex, Surrey and a big one coming up in Canterbury but would love to help with weddings in Thanet too.”

They must be barking mad. I can’t think of anything more ghastly.
Just a sad reflection of the society we live in . . .
