Actress Juliette Kaplan, famous for her character Pearl in comedy Last of the Summer Wine, will celebrate her 80th birthday by attending a Thanet Astronomy Group meeting tonight (October 2).
Juliette has been a member of the astronomy group since its inception six years ago.
She has been an active supporter of the group and played a great part in its development over the years.
As it is her birthday on the day of the next members’ meeting the group has decided to honour the occasion by presenting her with her own star.
Juliette has been quite poorly recently so her family have arranged for her to make an appearance at the meeting in true Last of the Summer Wine style…in an ambulance.
The private ambulance will bring Juliette to West Bay Cafe in Westgate which is where Thanet Astronomy Group holds regular meetings. The meeting is due to start at 7.30pm.
