Lease for popular Coles of Ramsgate goes up for sale

The lease for Coles of Ramsgate is up for sale

Popular coffee shop Coles of Ramsgate has gone onto the market.

The café has been run for the last four-and-a-half years by couple Michelle Gregg and Terry Cole and has become a hub for social events and friend meet ups.

The pair, from Margate, took on the shell of the property after the Thai restaurant at the site shut down.

Since then Terry and Michelle (pictured) have built up a reputation for good food, friendly service and a host of events.

But Terry is now suffering poor health, forcing the couple to make the sad decision to sell their lease.

Mum-of-one Michelle, 40, said: “It was a blank canvas when we moved in and Terry built everything inside.

“I had been working in the community and Terry was taxi driving but we saw it come up for rent and went for it.

“The best thing has definitely been our customers, they are really lovely and it is  a great community. Everyone knows each other and now they go to clubs together and meet up on a Sunday.

“But Terry has become poorly and we are having to sell up. We are hoping someone will take it on and make use of the licence we got for it and  really make use of its potential.

“We had lots of lovely events, quiz nights, and there is still so much that can be done there.”

Coles is still open and will remain so until it is handed over. Michelle is being helped by mum Hazel and Terry is doing what he can.
“We have loved every moment of our time building up such an amazing shop from a blank little space to a place alive with personality and life.”
