Man seriously injured in Margate ‘assault’ after being hit by car

The Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate is appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Margate where a man was hit by a car.

The incident took place in the High Street, at the junction with Mill Lane, at around 3am today (August 24). A man in his 30s suffered serious injuries after being hit by the car.

He has been taken to a London hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.

A 28-year-old woman from Margate has been arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in custody as enquiries continue.

The pair are known to each other.

Detective Chief Inspector Tristan Kluibenschadl, from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who may have information on the incident, or who saw a black Peugeot being driven in the vicinity at the time.

“We are also keen to obtain dash cam footage from motorists who were in the area, or privately held CCTV.
