Police call for witnesses after teenage boy sexually assaulted in Westbrook

A teenage boy has been sexually assaulted in Westbrook.

The incident happened in Westbrook Promenade between 5pm and 5.50pm on Sunday, July 21.

The boy reported being approached by a man who spoke to him and then touched him inappropriately above his clothing. The victim shouted out, which scared the suspect who walked away from him. He then reported the matter to Kent Police.

Patrols found a 68-year-old man that matched the description of the suspect in Trinity Square at around 6pm. He was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and remains in custody.
