New head boy and head girl for Drapers Mills junior team

Mt Manclark with Samuel Arthur and Anastasija Jusciute

Pupils at Drapers Mills Primary Academy in Margate went to the polls at the end of term to vote for who they wanted to represent them on the school’s junior leadership team.

Twenty-six children put their names forward for the coveted positions, highlighting the level of enthusiasm that children in the school have to want to make a difference. Staff and children from years 1 to 6 saw democracy in action when they cast their votes after being introduced to all potential candidates in a school assembly.

They identified Samuel Arthur and Anastasija Jusciute as the candidates most likely to show the school values of Respect, Endeavour, Fairness, Leadership, Enjoyment, Contribution and Trust at all times. They will be joined on the school’s junior leadership team by six others who were voted in as School Ambassadors.

Head teacher Joe Manclark said: “I am proud of all candidates for showing the confidence to apply for the position and look forward to working with the new Head Boy and Girl when we come back to school in September.”
