Three men were arrested following a chase

Police closed off the East Pier in Ramsgate this morning (July 29) in connection with an aggravated burglary last night.

Three men are in custody following the incident at a house in Ramsgate.

Kent Police was called at 11.20pm yesterday to a report that a man was threatened at his home in the Newington Road area and forced to hand over a set of keys.

Officers investigated the incident and at 6am this morning they attended the East Pier and arrested three men on suspicion of burglary following a short chase on foot.

The men, aged 19, 24 and 28, are all from the Ramsgate area and remain in custody while enquiries continue.

  1. Hurry up with those extra police that Boris has announced. We need them ASAP, this incident illustrates how lawless things have become in the last few years.

  2. These thugs deserve a long sentence. Make an example out of them. Any form of violent crime deserves a long prison sentence.
