A woman was taken to hospital last night (Friday) after an altercation broke out near Margate Winter Gardens.
Around four police cars descended on Fort Crescent at around 11pm where crowds of people were standing.
The venue had earlier hosted Bongos Bingo which sees the traditional game matched with dance-offs and music intervals – it is unknown whether the victim had attended the event.
A police spokesman confirmed: : “Kent Police was called to a report of assault at the Winter Gardens, Margate on Friday 19 July 2019 at around 11pm. Officers attended the scene where a woman had suffered injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
“Enquiries into the incident remain ongoing.”
