A woman has been rescued by Ramsgate’s RNLI crew after having to climb up a cliff to escape the rising tide.
The insghore lifeboat launched at 1.50pm after the woman, who was walking along the beach from Ramsgate to Margate, got caught out by the tide at Stone Bay.
To avoid the water she climbed up the cliff and used her mobile phone to raise the alarm.
The three volunteer crew managed to steer the ILB close to the cliffs where two of the crew entered the water to hold the rib still whilst the woman jumped into the boat.
They then dropped her safely off at Broadstairs, shaken but unharmed and returned to station.
Well done RNLI. Thank heaven you are there and ready to help.
Three cheers for three RNLI. I never understood why people don’t use common sense when walking along the beach from one town to another.
Glad they all were safe though.
I hope she made a generous donation to the volunteers of RNLI
