Entertainer Gordon Clarkson returns to the Sarah Thorne Theatre in Broadstairs for a one-off matinee special of the popular 1940’s Song and Laughter theme show ‘Sing As We Go’.

The show recreates a typical ENSA (Entertainments National Service Association) concert of the era comprising popular songs  such as ‘A Nightingale Sang’, ‘White Cliffs of Dover’. ‘We’ll Meet Again’ and many more. There will also be classic comedy sketches recalling among others  the Crazy Gang and radio memories of Gert and Daisy, Workers Playtime, and The Ovalteenies!

An afternoon of traditional entertainment is promised from the beautiful costumes with ‘Moonlight Becomes You’  to the stirring patriotic flag waving finale.

Gordon leads a talented company comprising Moira Pearn, Frank Tucker, Stacy Young, Mavis Lane and Ian Douglas, all supported by the live music of The Paul Stewart Duo.

The show is on Saturday, June 29 at 2.30pm. Tickets are £11 in advance, or £13 on the door. There are no booking fees if tickets are booked in person at the Box Office in Fordoun Road, or by telephone on 01843 863701.
