Police cordon off part of King George VI Park

An area of King George VI Park in Ramsgate is currently cordoned off by police this morning (June 4).

Officers and forensics are at the scene and a cordon has been put around the children’s play area.

Officers have been at the scene since around 5.30am.


Police have confirmed emergency services were called after a man’s body was found in Ramsgate this morning (June 4).

Officers, forensics and the ambulance service were called to King George VI Park play area at 5.49am.

A police spokesman said: “Kent Police was called to King George VI Memorial Park in Ramsgate at 5.49am where a man in his 30s was found deceased.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.”

A South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called shortly before 6am today to King George VI Park in Ramsgate. Ambulance crews attended and a man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.”

        • I can’t name a source but I used their information to make an enquiry of the police and used the information supplied by the force for the report. Police do not issue names in these circumstances
