Motorcyclist seriously injured in Westgate ‘hit and run’

A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries in a ‘hit and run’ in Westgate last night (May 13).

Kent Police was called to a report of a two-vehicle collision in Cedric Road at 5.17pm.

Officers attended the scene and the motorcyclist was taken to hospital. Enquiries were carried out to locate the driver of the second vehicle who was no longer at the scene.

A 57-year-old man from Margate was later found and arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and failing to stop. He remains in police custody.
