There could be a glimmer of hope for The Bottle Shop in Margate with the possibility of a reopening by Easter.
The bar founder Andrew Morgan announced its immediate closure on Monday (March 25) after he had reluctantly called in administrators when a last minute deal to save the business fell through.
Staff at the outlet were made redundant as the administrators were appointed to handle the liquidation of the business.
The decision was made after the company was dropped by a major supplier and lost 23% of its wholesale business as a result. A further brewery was then lost and despite all efforts a partnership deal did not come to fruition.
But now it has emerged that the Margate venue may have a buyer and the doors could soon be back open.
A spokesperson for The BottleShop said: “Our team are heartbroken, having not been able to say “goodbye” to our customers who we are proud to call friends. We are working tirelessly with administrators to do what we can to save this place which has become the heart of our community in Margate.
“We want to say a big thanks to everyone who made the place so special – the customers were such a big part of why it was so loved and, of course, the amazingly dedicated, wonderful staff.
“We’re all hoping for good news in a couple of weeks regarding who has bought the venue and hope to turn the lights on again soon.”
It is understood that two former staff members are hoping to buy the bar.
